CHAI
Earth Day and Grant Sponsorship
CHAI has helped and worked on many different projects at Wellwood. They donated prizes for our Earth Day Celebration. They also collaborated and helped implement a grant through Lowe's that provided flowers, benches, and more for around Wellwood's campus.

Bluewater Baltimore
Tree Planting
On April 20th 2017, many fourth and fifth grade students joined Blue Water Baltimore and planted 24 trees on Wellwood’s campus. In the fall of 2017, Blue Water Baltimore and Pikesville community members planted 25 more trees.

Baltimore County Hazmat Team
Green Club Demonstrations
During the spring of 2017, a member of the MDE Hazmat team provided a demonstration for the Green Team club. Students were able to see the different equipment used to clean up chemical spills.

Maryland Department of the Environment
Waste Free Lunch Day & Outdoor Classroom Dedication
In 2017, MDE joined us at Wellwood for multiple events. They coordinated and ran a waste free lunch day. On Earth Day, Secretary Ben Grumbles presented Wellwood with a Proclamation and participated in the ground breaking for our outdoor classroom.

Cromwell Valley Nature Center
Green Club Demonstration
During the Spring of 2017 and 2018, Cromwell Valley Nature Center presented to Wellwood's Green Team. They brought a variety of animals for students to see and learn about.

Our Schools
Environmental Programs 2017, 2018, and 2019
In collaboration with OUR Schools, Wellwood participated in hands-on environmental base lessons. OUR Schools provided PD for teachers, assemblies, lesson plans, and after school events for our students. Over the past three years our students have learned about renewable energy, micro-greens, and waste reduction.

Baltimore County Education Foundation
Grants for 2017, 2018, and 2019
Wellwood has received three "21st Century Instructional Incentive" grants from The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc. These grants allowed Wellwood to work with OUR Schools.

Girl Scouts
Sci-Fly Program
Many of our 1st grade girls participated in a six week program run by the Girl Scouts called "Sci-Fly". During this time the girls learned about unique animals, weather, the water cycle, the butterfly cycle, recycling and planted their own flowers. The Girl Scouts also volunteered to host a station at Wellwood's Annual Earth Day Celebration.

Cartridges For Kids
Cartridge Recycling
Since 2015, Wellwood has particapted in the Cartridge For Kids program. Our fifth grade students collect, pack, and ship empty ink cartridges to help reduce waste.
Earth Day Sponsors
Each spring, Wellwood International holds an Earth Day celebration. A number of community partners participate by hosting stations focused on Environmental Topics.
